Component Engineer

What will you do as a Component Engineer?

You are one of our experts when it comes to electrical components. You are involved from the technology phase, from design and development to actual production and life-cycle maintenance. Through good cooperation with your colleagues, you know exactly which technologies our customers use and which components fit in with them, both now and in the future. You advise your colleagues and our customers about this. If components are not available, you know what alternatives are available. You process the data you receive from suppliers about the components into our system, which you then use for all Neways operating companies.

You are the expert at the interface of Component Technology and Engineering – Arjan van den Heuvel (Manager Component Engineering – Neways Electronics International)

Your duties also include:

  • Together with the team, you are responsible for the quality and maintenance of the Components Database;
  • Modifying and distributing component information;
  • Monitoring processes and procedures as described in the quality system, and actively thinking along in improving these;
  • Assessing and following up Product Change Notices (PCNs) of component manufacturers.

Your Profile and DNA:

  • In possession of a diploma at bachelor level in the direction of electrical engineering;
  • Knowledge of electronic components, and the drive to keep these up-to-date with the latest developments;
  • Experience within a similar position or preferably as hardware engineer;
  • Knowledge of Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) is an advantage;
  • You are enthusiastic, and want to develop further in the position of Component Engineer;
  • Good communication and writing skills in Dutch and English.
