Software Designer

What will you do as a Software Designer?

As Software Designer, you will be part of the Design and Engineering group at Neways Technologies within the Embedded Systems department. You are (co-)responsible for the embedded software of the solutions and partly for the electronics part that we develop and produce in consultation with our customers. In your position, you fulfil an intermediary role between the customer and the department. In this position, you will be working on a variety of projects in a project-based manner. You can think of projects within the automotive, industry, medical or semiconductor industry.

As the key Lead or Senior Software Designer in the embedded system team, you will have a major role in success of system innovation within Neways

Your duties will further include:

  • developing embedded software according to specifications;
  • completing assigned work according to schedule;
  • being and staying up-to-date with development tools and working methods;
  • assisting in the release of the developed products, especially for the test tooling
  • working with and according to (internal) coding standards;
  • participating in project teams.

Your profile and DNA:

  • a bachelor or master degree in electronics or similar;
  • at least a few years of relevant work experience;
  • knowledge of software development tools (e.g. IAR, Keil, Eclipse);
  • knowledge of and experience with programming languages, e.g. C/C++, Java, VB.net;
  • knowledge of and experience with OS- and event-based software applications;
  • knowledge of and experience with software design methodologies, e.g. Jordan, UML, OSI model;
  • knowledge of and experience with wireless technologies (Wifi, BT, mobile net) is a plus;
  • knowledge of and experience with hardware and able to build board support packages for different hardware environments.
