(Sr) Corporate EHS Expert

To elevate sustainability of our work even further, we are looking for a EHS Expert for our headquarter who can support the growth and professionalize sustainability across the global network. You will have a key role in further developing our ESG program and sustainability management.

What will you do as a EHS Expert?

As an EHS Expert, you will hold a key position within our global QESH department and report into the Global Quality & EHS Director. As an EHS Expert you ensure the execution of the Neways EHS policies, procedures and improvement programs in collaboration with the different operating and production companies. You will implement appropriate safety controls and working methods to ensure an accident / incident free environment and ensure regulatory compliance is met for our employees.

You will have the chance to join the further development and professionalization of the corporate sustainability ESG program, its reporting structure and execution in the organization. You’ll define and deploy behavioral change programs towards a daily safe, healthy work environment and develop practices where sustainability impact is taken into account during decision making.

As a Corporate EHS Expert you will make a significant contribution to Neways’ sustainable growth

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Actively engage with the different locations through regular meetings, visits, field observations, audits, inspections, reporting analysis, and improvement plans
  • Design & provide training/workshops/coaching sessions, as well as regular reporting to Corporate
  • Be a key advisor on EHS matters for our operating and production companies to identify risks, define priorities, provide solutions, and guard the fundamental EHS concepts and principles
  • Set-up reporting structures on sustainability, analyze waste flows over the value stream and initiate and execute improvement projects
  • Investigate overall number of accidents, incidents and complaints to initiate structural improvements and ensure learnings are deployed throughout the company
  • Manage, lead & drive risk awareness/assessment, health & safety operational excellence, and behavioral changes with key focus in leadership & culture
  • Further develop and administer the Neways management system and its compliance with regulatory environmental, health or safety regulation

Your profile & DNA:

Your entrepreneurial mindset, patience, decisiveness, and hands-on attitude will contribute to successfully navigating the daily dynamics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Environmental and/or Health & Safety
  • Certified MVK, HVK is a pre
  • Good knowledge of existing and developing relevant EHS legislation / standards (ISO14001/ISO5001), and practical appreciation of EHS hazards
  • Experience in EHS topics and running change programs across different entities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and able to work with people at all levels of the organization
  • Strong facilitator with experience of delivering H&S training sessions and coaching
  • Experience working as part of a diverse and remote team
  • Good English language skills both written and spoke
  • Available to travel (across the locations) 15-20%
