Next generation handheld pressing technology with Novopress
Neways and Novopress are collaborating on the development of a next generation handheld pipe pressing platform for the plumbing, HVAC and industrial sectors. Building on an existing collaboration for the production of Pipe Joining and Shrinking Tool PCBAs, Novopress selected Neways as development and industrialization partner for its newest generation of intelligent pressing tools.
The project combines advanced electronics, embedded software and functional safety into a compact and future proof handheld platform focused on usability, modularity and long term scalability.
Challenges
The development of advanced handheld pressing tools requires the integration of compact electronics, embedded intelligence and functional safety within a highly robust industrial product.
Besides strict safety requirements, the new platform also needed to support smart functionality, connectivity and future upgradeability without increasing complexity for the end user.
To meet these requirements, Neways and Novopress started the project with a series of co-development workshops to jointly define the product architecture and technical requirements. Through an agile development approach, the teams focused on balancing ambitious timelines, strict cost targets and long term flexibility within a modular system design.

Key results
The collaboration resulted in the launch of the new Novopress 32®, a next generation handheld pressing tool combining embedded intelligence, modularity and user focused functionality.
The platform introduces advanced features such as bright press point lighting, a smart display with real time feedback, Bluetooth connectivity and service free technology with proactive maintenance notifications. Thanks to its modular architecture, the system can be adapted or upgraded without redesigning the complete platform, supporting long term flexibility and scalability.
